To End Grandson Week

April 27, 2024

A touching moment with my Grandson…I reached my hand out to him and said “Grandma loves you” and he slowly reached out his hand and touched mine, then…he farted. LOL

My grandson says, (and I quote), “Grandpa took-ah the red car, bring it back.” (he punctuated this with smacking his hand on my desk) rofl

Yesterday I had something happen that was touching, but sad. I went to pick my grandson up at daycare and they were outside in the playground. The same thing always happens. I walk into the playground and he sees me and gets this huge smile on his face, says “GRANDMA!” and then runs up and hugs my legs. I of course yell “BUDDY!” and hug him back. Yesterday that happened, as usual, but then I heard this little girl start to cry and she ran up and hugged my legs and wanted me to pick her up, which I did. That poor kid sobbed and just clung on to me. Like I said, I was touched but felt so bad because she obviously looked to me for something that I couldn’t fix, other than a hug. Of course the workers, who didn’t look too pleased, took her from me (I probably broke some kind of protocol by hugging someone else’s kid). But what was I supposed to do?? Anyway, like I said, it was still bugging me this morning so I did the only thing I could do for the girl. I prayed for her and I feel better now.

Lastly…

Thank you GOD for all that you have done for my family, and me. I’ve been blessed WAY beyond what I deserve. I’m married to my best friend, we have two wonderful daughters, and I have been blessed with the best grandson, ever. Not to mention many winged babies, that make me laugh every single day. I’m also thankful for our church home, and family- for that sense of community. For all of this (and much more) I am grateful, and give praise to GOD.
