Stuff and more stuff

March 8, 2011

So, lots of stuff going on. One or our properties is under contract, which means we’ll be able to move the house off of it to the farm and begin renovating it to live in. I sketched up some plans, and we’ve been picking paint colors and getting some quotes. So far it’s looking like it’s going to be around 30,000 to get it moved and set up, running the duct work and getting in AC/Heat will cost around 18,000 and then there’s the septic, insulation, and having the roof and porches rebuilt. It will cost 6,000 just to take the roof off of it to get it moved. We’ve not received a price on putting it, or the porches back on. Then after that’s taken care of we have to rebuild the kitchen, remodel the baths and have the floors sanded and stained. The good news is that the money received from this property is pretty much all profit, since the property has been paid off for a while. Of course other things have to come from it too, like tithing, paying bills and paying off my car, etc.
In other news, my grandson left with his father to visit family in Mexico. I’ve been praying that they would have a great time and return safely. I wonder what Shane is going to do without his beloved vacuum cleaner. Recently we snapped this picture of him “hanging ten” and surfing across the floor on it.

Right now I have to get going, a couple of Mr. Dragon’s students are making dinner for us and I have to get ready. šŸ™‚

  1. Glad to hear from you and see thats things are progressing. It all sounds so exciting but I know it’s a ton of stress and lots of work.

your grandson is ADORABLE! I hope they have a safe trip šŸ˜‰

  2. Me too, I was kind of concerned because of all of the instability and violence taking place over there, but he assured me that his family lived in a secure/safe part. The other scary thing is taking a 16 month old on several plane trips. lol

  3. Vacuum surfing. That’s awesome!

  4. I think he’s going to go pro. lol
