Halloween is almost here

October 30, 2010

Well, I’m about ready to do some last minute moving around of props in the graveyard to make room for our graveyard helpers, of which we have several more this year…five besides Mr. Dragon and myself. Also, we have to move out props that come out on Halloween only, as they are expensive and we don’t want them ripped off or destroyed by the elements. I’m also really excited that the Walking Dead is on tomorrow.
I skipped the University’s zombie walk, but Mr. Dragon, after being attacked by them, came and got me and we ate dinner at the place where they met for dinner. It was pretty cool.
Anyway, I’m off to do some graveyard work before my grandson gets dropped off.

The Death of a Dream

October 29, 2010

You take some frustration, add a little sarcasm, mental and physical exhaustion, some scapegoating and unreasonable actions from those in a position of power over you and it’s just amazing what can happen. I wave the white flag, I give up.

Costume Party Woohoo!

October 28, 2010

Since I really sucked and didn’t get a picture of my new costume at our Halloween party, I’m making amends by posting it now. We’re on our way to a costume party at the university.

From the studio…

October 28, 2010

I got to spend the morning doing backing vocals for a cd. It was a lot of fun, and it felt good to be singing again. Thank you to Tim and Steve for making it a wonderful experience and giving me the opportunity to belt out a few notes.

Much Better

October 27, 2010

Ahhh…feeling so much better. I think it may have been a change of weather cold. And I’ve successfully whipped it without seeing the doctor…wuhahaha. In other news, tomorrow I’m going to a studio to do some backing vocals for a friend of a friend’s recording. Haven’t sang like this for a long time, so it looks like I’ll be practicing a bit tonight and tomorrow morning.
I’m also excited that this week is Halloween, and that the series The Walking Dead begins. Although, honestly, I’ll kind of be glad for Halloween to be all over this year. I have a lot going on and I haven’t gotten a chance to enjoy it much, oh well, there’s always next year.

ick continued

October 25, 2010

I’m still sick but I’m going to take a stab at going to class anyway. Not only do I have papers to turn in, but I want to see what I got on my mid-term that we took last week. I’m not saying I’ll be staying the whole 3 hours, but I’m going to give it a try. I’m praying we get out early.

ick

October 24, 2010

I’ve been sick. Stuffy, fever, nausea, the occasional cough and lack of sleep. I stayed up ’til 7:30am because I felt alternately dizzy/sick to my stomach. I got up at 10:00 and and 11:00, and finally gave up and got up around 11:45. I don’t feel right, it feels like I’m actually hovering 2 feet over myself…weird feeling. I think it’s time for me to wave the white flag, and take something to knock me out and just collapse on the bed.

Jack the Ripper

October 22, 2010

So as some of you know, an area of interest of mine is serial killers, and on the top of that list is Jack the Ripper. After having done my senior paper on female serial killers, and asserting a theory (as some before me) that one of the reasons Jack the Ripper may not have been caught, was because Jack the Ripper was a woman. Then I wrote about some interesting items in the coroner’s report for the last victim, and compared it to some recent crimes that women have committed. But lately I’ve been re-thinking that theory, and I’ve been doing some more research. I believe Mary Kelly (the last victim) is the key to solving the Ripper murders. As the Ripper murders progressed, so did the intensity of the attacks and the ritualistic way in which he staged them and various organs. This time I also noticed that his attacks were cyclic, and I suspect (haven’t checked it out yet) that they were at the new moon, and near the full moon, and then on to the new moon again etc. I’m sure others way before me have noticed this, I just realized it heh. Anyway, so I remembered at that time, the Sons of the Golden Dawn were either just forming, or had been formed, and seeing as Aliester Crowley had been a member briefly, decided to do a search on both the Ripper and Crowley, and lo and behold, Crowley had written something on the Ripper murders, and in the article there was talk of a ritual for power that mirrored the Ripper murders (with the exception of the murders making an inverted pentagram). VERY interesting stuff. I’m still researching this, but I’m keeping my eye open for other details that might take me off in a totally new direction. Yep…interesting stuff.
